Copying the works of master painters is a standard practice adopted in teaching art in Western art schools.
The artist's use of the method was particularly beneficial in developing his art skills. In his quest to learn his craft he has also accumulated a large portfolio of reproductions of Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, Paul Gauguin, and Paul Cezanne.
